The Grapes Covid Safe Policies

At The Grapes, our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers.
To minimise the spread of Covid-19 and to make sure The Grapes is a safe place to visit, we are undertaking a number of additional safety measures outlined below.

Risk 1

Scenario
Staff coming to work with Covid – 19 symptoms and transmitting the virus to others

Risk

Severity
Variable, depending on age and underlying health conditions of those in the vicinity

Mitigating action
Temperature checks and log for all staff on a daily basis. Temperatures to be logged on the rota and kept on file. Staff with symptoms will not be allowed to work and advised to go home and quarantine for 14 days.

Risk 2

Scenario
Staff working in a potentially unsafe environment, ie in close contact with other staff and customers exposing themselves to Covid 19 virus

Mitigating Action
WBB will provide face masks & gloves for staff use. Hand sanitiser will be in plentiful supply in all staff areas.
Staff to have staggered start and finish times where possible.
WBB to provide sneeze screens along the bar area to shield bar staff from customers and vice versa. Safe working practices adhering to social distancing guidance at all times.

Scenario
Transmission of Covid 19 virus through contact with surfaces for both staff and customers

Severity
Variable, depending on age and underlying health conditions of those in the vicinity

Mitigating action
Readily available hand sanitiser throughout the Grapes. All tables and chairs to be sanitised between uses. All push plates and door handles to be sanitised every 30 minutes. Toilets & sinks to be sanitised every 30 minutes. All staff mandated to sanitise their hands evert 30 minutes as a minimum requirement.

Transmission of Covid 19 virus through sharing condiments

Mitigating action
All condiments to be available in single use disposable sachets or cups

Scenario
Transmission of Covid 19 virus through customers moving around within the Grapes whilst there

Mitigating action
All customers will order at the bar and must be seated at a table to have food and drinks delivered to them.
Booking is advised.

Risk 6

Scenario
Unaccompanied young children unwittingly spread Covid 19 virus through touching things

Risk
Moderate – 1: 2800 as of 25/06/2020

Severity
Variable, depending on age and underlying health conditions of those in the vicinity

Mitigating action
Adults will be advised upon booking or being seated that children ages 12 or under will have to be accompanied at all times

Risk of transmitting / contracting Covid 19 in the confined space of our loos

Mitigating action
Clear signage advising a ‘1 in, 1 out’ policy. Hand soap and sanitiser available at all basins in the loos. Regular 30 minute toilet and sink sanitation. 30 minute sanitation of all locks, push plates and door handles.

Mitigating action
All tables and chairs to be spaced at 2 metres apart. Or if closer, sufficient screening will be in place.

Mitigating action
Using floor stickers to mark 2 metre spacing for queueing

Risk of staff transmitting / contracting Covid 19 whilst receiving cash payments and giving out cash change

Mitigating action
We will not take cash. Contactless payments where possible and all credit card machines to be sanitised every 30 minutes.

Risk of local transmission of Covid 19 due to inadequate track and trace data

Mitigating action
All bookings must provide a phone number and email address upon booking and will be kept on file in compliance with current GDPR legislation.

Track and trace QR code for scanning on arrival and on all tables. This data is kept on a cloud from Sprout social
